Flows and Impacts of Fake News

Fake news is a journalism that consists of deliberately flow of disinformation and spread bad content through traditional print, broadcast news or online platforms. In most of the country fake news spreading is considered as a major crime and a person who is doing such so they will be punishable by the government. The impact of the growing interest in fake news has been the realization that the public may not well equipped to separate the data and content quality from fake information. The issue of fake news has become global and it is the most popular debate topic for the politicians. The flow of fake news increases bad people propaganda and this will provide a negative impact on the common public mind. The major method and mode to spread fake news are social media or the internet (Paisana, et. al., 2020). This is important for the government is to focus on banned on such sources of information that spread negative and false content among the common people. If the internet creates a negative image of a person so that all the people who are read or see such content are believed that it may be true and this will damage the real and honest person image and destroy their life as well. For this, media channels’ main responsibility is to provide correct and authentic information to the public through their channels and reach with actual truth.

Fake news can also create major influences as information shapes the world views and most people develop important decisions based on the information. The common people form an effective idea regarding some politicians or government by gaining such information. So if the information saw on the internet or media is false, invented, distorted, and exaggerated, then this will create a negative impact on people’s minds (Meel, et. al., 2020).It has been analyzed that fake news hurts the social media and online channels which are based on outlets far worse than traditional printing and TV. There are around 58% of people who had less trust in social media news as opposed to 24 percent of people in mainstream media after learning about the fake news. The media channels’ main duty is to spread truth and authentic content among their country people. Most of people do not saw TV but they have a social account where they get the news and update themselves.

Fake news gave wrong content to the people and they believe its truth. Based on this, they also develop required decisions. Fake news causes confusion among people regarding the current issues, problems, and events, they continue to circulate it. Sometimes, fake journalism creates such news for gaining profit and increases their TRP rate, and they are developing whatever content which is mainly like, and most of the people are attracted to it (García, et. al., 2020). This will enhance profit and goodwill of their channels among people. It can be concluded that it is not good for a country to not handle the fake news network otherwise they are not developing a positive environment in the nation.
